@zub, phil
grey and Kzer are on same ps3 so try to get their fights first.

lusa says he cant make it therefore shredm takes his spot in group D(ouble Awesome). tourney starts in 8h. gn :)

ps. challonge will be updated after the group stage due to ppl being late/absent.

Re: CAWesome Tourney - Group Stage Completed

Postby bialy0021 » Sat Feb 28, 2015 8:37 pm

sup,

we started with a slight delay (at least most of the groups) - 15min or so. id say it went pretty well for the most part :P

group B was finished 1st, mainly due to 2 no shows. we waited for about 2h for jumi and hatch (he did eventually show up) but unfortunately it was too late. got a msg from hatch at around 10:30pm, didnt even see it till later, sorry mate.
you can check out all fights on zub's twitch. starts at 30min mark.

group C followed. it was smooth and absentees were either replaced (hundercontrol subbed for kris) or showed up just in time - rook :) we were done around 10:20pm i believe.
ggs to everyone, was fun. gj to undefeated moe and rook for showing me im a gs scrub now xD
there were some sweet gaxe rolls, sc recasts, clay swings, kats meows, warding wards etc. really enjoyable fights
...blessed ks still pretty op even after a year :>

group A was done soon after with hag and badbro coming out on top. lots of kats, few dss tertls, a mage (sry hope :P), sexiest copycat ever and just as sexy rylie who was reporting scores before ppl even dropped their signs xD

group D - last but not least. meph undefeated, duh! apart from that looks like a very close group and it was the only one with a tiebreak at the end. asa beats germans and so he did in the tiebreak vs phirru. thanks to shredm for subbing lusa. triwi the unstoppable force didnt make it, grey had to go after 3 fights i assume :(

now, i present you TEH FINALISTS:
- HagaarsBuilds
- IAMREALLYBADBRO
- ValkyriePROfail
- ZubisGaxinUinTheFinals
- moebius_aa
- Still_a_Rook
- Mephistophea
- vallarfax_ds, bro to Biorr and all that ;) aka asagoe

congrats.
you can now check full standings and result in the op. challonge has been updated as well - note that no shows are replaced by BYEs not to mess up groups.
thank you for participating and ggs. special thanks to Ryliciouss, ZubisHostingU and phillip1993 for hosting/streaming.
finals are this saturday, 7th march, see you there :3

ps. Finlas Bracket

if youre going to be late its not a problem as long as its not too late - we will definitely wait for an hour, after that you may be treated as BYE, fair warning.

gl and see you guys

ps. for anyone interested finals will be streamed on rylie's channel. i imagine zub might stream/record as well. check em out.

double post, sue me!
apologies for late update - afterparty :P

we started as planned and tourney went ok with only hag missing (he did say he might not be able to participate. hope youre ok mate). phil being a 3rd place holder from the group stage subbed for his fellow german. the whole thing took around 3h i believe - not the fastest tourney ive done but hey.
there were some great fights with sc recasts, scrapers, xups, rolls, slashes, runstabs, lagstabs, like 1 counter stab (nothing can escape me ;)) a bit of salt and all that. i enjoyed em quite a bit, even if lag was strong in few cases. hope all of you had at least some fun.

CAWesome Tourney on challonge.com

2. ZubisGaxinU
3. Mephistophea

congrats to IAMREALLYBADBRO for a very effective cosplay of doran xD unlucky zub.

- ks. HA!
- other, not that important weapons...
ok, ok
- 3 gaxes
- kats

Anyway i was not unlucky, i ve given my best with my strength build. :gamers:

BADBRO was too good with this play style and at second chance recasts for me.

no one it seems was prepared for hum's (IAMREALLYBADBRO) latency, seeing how he's from arabia. oh well, looks like there was plenty of choking in this tournament. congratz to hum tho, well done. keep the oniotus tradition going 8-)

Lol Fisto.
No, honestly Hum did not killed me thank to his lag.

http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4200527962

His fights against Valk or Mephi were amazing exemples of lag.Not against me.

No one blamed Hum for anything.

The old meta "never attack the first" with high vita NR build and backpedaling shield up then run BS spamming" is very effective against a classic build.

Hum did it very well. Congratulations Hum.

U need 81 vitality to keep second chance after a NR backstab, so only high vita builds need the same number of NR backstab to kill. So in a run backstab spam fight, the high vita NR build keep the advantage, especially in a grass fight.

for exemple : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gyO5ztWOR8

In fact, against a backpedaling shield up, cross up (dead angle) are hard to do because all cross up have a low range on DeS.Moreover, a missed cross up shows your back to ur opponent with almost all weapons.

The easiest and safe way to counter a high vita NR build backpedaling shield up is firespray/plague and miridan hammer. (blunt attack, great range and stunlock, low stamina used per hit)

Unfortunately for me, i prefer play with the weapons and builds i like. 8-)

We all knew what will be Hum's strategy.

As no one has used the best "match up build" to counter Hum's tactic, i suppose others players did the same choice than me.

So there is not "plenty of choking" IMO. :)

fair enough, i do agree that Hum deserved the win, and in a game like this where pretty much everyone is laggy there's no use in getting angry over latency, altho i do like to test hum by bullying him :D

anyway GGs, i hope to see you guys in bloodborne
