New Member Registration System

Postby Stooge » Thu Jan 03, 2013 3:31 pm

All Users,

I have implemented a new system to block spam bots. In addition I have removed the requirement that an admin validate a new account before it can be used. Since this is a new system I am not sure how effective it will be, but it has already started blocking spam bots. I manually validated a few accounts before implementing this system, so those may turn out to be spam bots. I would ask that every users please keep an eye out for any spam accounts and flag them so a moderator or admin can take action. Hopefully this new system will prove adequate enough that we can handle what few spam bots do get through. If not, then I'll have to revert back to the old system until I can figure out a solid method for stemming the tide of spam bots. May they burn in hell ...

Yours,

Stooge

Haha. Of course there are bound to be a few blips....may they all be ironic or ...oddly coincidental.
