Weapon Attack Rating Calculators

Postby Mud-Chan » Fri May 27, 2011 11:20 pm

Hey all,

So, this area of the board seemed most applicable to what I am trying to post. Back in Winter of 2010 I set out to find some weapon attack ratings for various upgrade paths. I abandoned the project in January after nearly completing, and just picked it up 8 days ago. So, in that time I was able to make online spreadsheets for all the weapons (save for BBS) and a cheaply designed free website to host them. I hate to sort of "advertise" but I cannot exactly upload interactive online Excel calculators onto the wiki, so linking the site with the information is all I can do.

http://sites.google.com/site/darksoulstats/

If you are interested in knowing some attack ratings based on your stats, follow that link. Use the sidebar to get to the different pages for upgrade paths and follow the instructions on how to use the calculators. The tolerances are within +/-2 attack rating, which is much better than the only other currently available calculator (which is off by as much as 40AR in some areas). I certainly hope some of you can find this useful.

If anyone is interested in the GFAQs discussion, please follow this link:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/954345-d ... s/59253525

Thank you and I hope you enjoy and can make use of this. Oh yeah, side note, FF4 has some errors reading the calculators, but it still works with 3.6. It also will work in FF4 with IE Tab 2 addon.

Mud-Chan, this is an excellent tool for players. I've had a look to see how easy it is to use and to test it's accuracy. It is simple to use, very user friendly, and pretty much spot on with the weapons I tested.
This must have taken quite a lot of work to set up and taken a lot of time & effort.
Thanks for this.

Great to know, all it takes is a simple [[embed]] and such. This is something I could do, except I would still not feel right just placing 14 to 15 spreadsheets on the wiki without approval. I suppose if a moderator gives me a location of where the sheets should be placed and acceptable sizes, it can be done. Then again, having it as a separate site will help reduce clutter, not to mention it is already set up. Maybe just a link to the sheets would suffice. Or this stickied topic itself will work.

Or were you saying embed in this forum post?

The way the sheets are presented currently is great.
It just sounded like you might have preferred them to be part of the wiki.
I've added a test page to the wiki here, in case you want to play with the idea.
Completely up to you.

Yeah Hag, I swear I've dueled you at least once or twice before. I haven't been on much since January though, I'm just getting back into it again now from another break.

Oh, and reason for my posting, I updated in a shield AR (people at GFAQs wanted :? ) and hitres calculator the other day, and just put in a Catalyst/Talisman calculator with estimated spell damage values. I beefed up my power and destroyed some 1-1 dredglings so the effect of mitigation was minor and I could get some better factors. They should very nearly represent the value of the actual spell damage before defenses kick in. Your actual spell damage numbers will (should) be lower though, pending on the defense of what you're attacking. I still don't quite know how defense works, you know on a numerical level.

If people should notice the ToB's Adjusted Spell Assist values aren't looking too accurate, let me know. I haven't had a case of it being wrong yet, but I am only one man and I could only check so much. I just worry because it seemed a little too simple, and it worked too perfectly.
