This document is designed to clarify various responsibilities of community members here at Please read it and become familiar with it as its terms are retroactive and agreed upon by team and group members.

  1. Forum rules

    1. Please post topics in the correct area of the forum. Read the forum descriptions for guidance on where to post a topic. This saves moderator time having to move a topic to the correct forum. Unless done deliberately, violations on this rule typically will not result in an official warning, but rather a gentle reminder.

    2. We are not fond of hatred here. So, please refrain from hateful, abusive, or harassing behaviours. While you are free to discuss things with a passion, do not let your passion get the better of you. Depending on the nature and context violations of this rule can range from a gentle reminder to, in the most severe cases, an out right ban. This also covers any overtly offensive material such as pornography. If you're unsure you may always send a PM to a moderator first.

    3. Please report posts that you feel are violating the rules or spirit of the forums via the "Report post" system. Every post has a small icon in the shape of a triangle with an exclamation point near the top right corner of the post. You may click that to report a post. Please, do try and refrain from moderating a topic yourself. It might make a bad situation worse. You may also directly message a member of the Moderator Team.

    5. Members are expected to respect the copyright of others.

    8. Users should type in a manner that does not make it difficult for others to read their post. Long walls of text, lack of capitliazation, lack of punctuation, all just serve to make it more difficult for people to understand your post. Please bear that in mind when posting. Unless it is obviously an attempt to cause trouble, these violations will typically result in gentle reminders, rather than actual warnings.

    10. No Spam, and no advertising commercial services or other non Souls related sites. These are subject to removal without notice.

    11. While a moderator should make their reasons clear, you may seek clarification from any moderator on a decision they have made, but please do so in a respectful manner. If you feel uncomfortable asking a moderator on why they made a decision, or you are not happy with their response, please escalate to either Stooge or Lea. We do not want users to feel that they are not allowed to question decisions, and we encourage them to do so, but only in a respectful manner and not one designed to provoke a conforontation.

Signatures may contain up to five lines of text (of small or normal size) and/or one image, valid combinations include; a single image of no more than 160px high, 500px wide and no greater than 200Kb in size. Signatures containing an image this large may also include one line of small size text. Signatures containing an image of 80px high may include up to three lines of small size text or two lines of normal size text. Images of 40px height or less may allow up to three lines of normal size text or four lines of small size text. Animated images are not allowed. Limit on image filesize prevents detrimental effect on forums page load speed.
    2. Text sizes should be between 75% and 100% (small and normal). Text in signatures is subject to the same conditions as posts with respect decency, warez, emoticons, and so forth.
    3. Links in signatures are permitted to a maximum of four unique pages or sites. Forum Staff are allowed additional links to aid in rendering support for the site. You may not include links in a way which suggests you offer official support, software, etc. for this site or Demon's Souls Wiki site. You may not link to warez, porn, racist or other similar hate sites. Links are included in signature size limits.
    4. Users abusing these rules will be warned.
  3. Policing

    1. This site operates on a three strike policy. Users will be warned a maximum of three times for any and all offences in a three month period. If the need arises for a fourth warning a temporary ban will be put in place of between 2 to 7 days.
    2. Arguing with team members in any public service offered by Stooge (Wiki, Ventrilo Server, etc.) after having received a warning will lead to an immediate additional warning. Should this exceed five strikes a temporary ban will be put in place as above.
    3. Users who feel they have been unfairly warned are welcome to contact Stooge or Ilkar. If Stooge or Ilkar feel you were treated badly they will remove a warning.
    4. Any attempt to circumvent a temporary ban or other moderator action will lead to a permanent ban of your account(s). Circumvention includes re-registering or using an already registered account under a non-banned username. Other examples include changing IP addresses, using a new email account or other action that can be taken to evade moderator action to hide your identity as the owner of the sanctioned account.
    5. An exception to the five strike rule applies when users contact team members personally (via any method) and post insulting, indecent or vulgar material. Such users may be subject to an immediate permanent ban.
    6. Permanent bans are a last resort and thought is given before implementing them. While the site admins may consider lifting permanent bans from time to time this is a rare occurrence.
    7. Permanent bans are only assigned by Stooge or Ilkar. Moderators can only assign a temporary ban.
